NGM Exhibition Stand thumb

Show: SIAL, Paris.

Background:

A call was taken in the office from the US based client. It transpired that NGM (with head offices in Holland) was planning to exhibit at SIAL in Paris, later in the year. It would be their first ever time exhibiting and were looking to promote awareness of their company and major brands. Initial communications with the US, over many late nights, paved the way for a joint meeting with US and Dutch representatives in Swindon, where three, costed, design options were presented. After a number of changes, including a late amendment request by the Organisers the project was approved.

Brief:

In addition to the corporate element, with a semi-formal meeting area, NGM’s three major food brands would need distinct and separate areas, with integrated product and AV displays. Storage was important, to accommodate food samples and promotional giveaway packages.

Pitch:

As a first time exhibitor, a contemporary stand design was proposed, with a strong corporate colour scheme, to present the company as a dynamic and forward looking organisation. Clear lifestyle images were incorporated to further reinforce the brand, while a combination of carpet and vinyl cuts were suggested to differentiate and separate the various areas and products.

A ‘friendly but formal’, meeting area would be incorporated, along with a reception / meet and greet point, to facilitate business activity and manage customer flow. The overall stand design would allow for minimum refurbishment between shows.
NGM International Exhibition Stand

Client profile:

An innovative group dedicated to the export and distribution of fast moving, consumer packed foodstuffs, throughout the world.

How was the experience for you?

“Simple fast and efficient. They made the entire process very easy and worry free. We rarely approve any design upon first presentation and can safely say that they are the first company that got their design instantly approved by our management, on the first presentation. As far as organizing everything to make sure our fair was smooth, they did a great job. The building crew were very friendly and even went above and beyond in helping us take our products to the stand and displaying them. Since I was responsible for putting the entire fair together and organizing the event, I am grateful that they made me look so good. My directors were very happy with the fair and are motivated to do it again! “

What were you looking to achieve from the show?

“Being that it was our first time presenting at the fair we were really looking to attract new business and also let our current partners see the success and growth that we are experiencing. Our stand really stood out from the other stands and got a lot of attention, which is what we wanted. Our partners who were invited were also very impressed with our stand. It really gave everyone a confident and proud feeling to be there and we enjoyed the numerous inquiries we received”

Did the stand meet your expectations?
“Above and beyond. It was exactly the same as the design we approved. The stand looked incredible and everything worked 100%. They thought of every minor detail which we really appreciated. As it was our first time presenting, we did not think of certain things like outlets, refrigerators, parking spots etc., etc., but the team guided us with all these concerns and took care of it for us. They were our one stop shop in every sense of the word”.

Mackwell Exhibition Stand thumbnail

Mackwell Electronics Ltd – Light + Building

Show: Light + Building, Frankfurt

Background:

Displays was invited to tender for the Mackwell stand at the Light + Building show. Mackwell had been exhibiting for many years, working with their preferred partner, but were open to fresh ideas. After a number of visits we got a real feel of the direction in which the company wanted to move. Further meetings, and subsequent design amendments, moved us through to the final phase of selection; and we were informed that we had been successful in the bid. In years to follow, they have designed and built stands for 2 shows for Mackwell Electronics, Light + Building and also Lux Live.

Brief:

The brief called for a stand that positioned Mackwell as a total lighting technology provider and away from just being a component producer – it would be the first year that Mackwell had exhibited under their new ownership and brand.

The overall feel of the stand was to be minimalistic with discreet lighting and a sympathetic solution
for displaying products, while full consideration was to be given to the re-usability of the elements.

Pitch:

The design proposed, adopted a very corporate style, in keeping with a supplier of high end, quality products. With many visitors expected to be existing customers, strong branding and the avoidance of information overload, would help to emphasise the positioning of the company as a solutions based supplier.

Full advantage was taken of the available height allowed, combined with a predominantly white colour scheme. This would produce a unique and striking exhibit.

Client profile:

The global leader in emergency lighting solutions and lighting technology.
How was the experience for you?
“They understood our deign brief and the concepts they proposed during the tender process immediately grabbed our attention. Their can do approach and willingness to go that extra mile, throughout the process, was crucial in our relationship.”

What were you looking to achieve from the show?

“At the time our company had recently implemented a re-branding program and it was important that the exhibition emphasised both our new corporate look and brand positioning.”

Did the stand meet your expectations?

“They interpreted our requirements into a clean and modern looking stand, with many of our industry partners and visitors commenting on the fresh new look. The feedback was very positive, the general consensus being that it was the best stand we had ever had. The stand was reconfigured, subsequently, for Lux Live at Earls Court, where again we had a super show.”

IOSH Exhibition Stand Thumbnail

6 major shows over 3 years

Client: Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
Show programme: 6 major shows over 3 years.

Background:

A ‘Request for Proposal’ was sent out, by the client, to 36 companies and after a series of reviews, evaluations and interviews, they were chosen to undertake the design, construction, installation, removal and storage of the stand, which was to be used for the first time at the IOSH 2012 Conference and Exhibition at Manchester Central.

Brief:

We were asked to design a new stand with specific areas to accommodate five separate departments and their varying needs. These were to be integrated seamlessly, without prominent segregation. In addition, the design was to be flexible enough to accommodate a 30 seat theatre area for one of the shows, while having lots of easy access storage and high visibility branding.

Pitch:

The structure proposed with aerial links, would make the most of the height available and would give a very open feel to the stand. A central reception area would ensure a welcoming point for all visitors, while the main supports would provide ideal locations for strong branding opportunities.

Overall a very flexible design with modern, eye catching looks.

Lindt exhibition stand thumbnail

Developing long term relationships

Background:

We received an enquiry, on our web site, from Andrew Lightowler, Lindt’s Trade Sector Manager. The enquiry was in relation to two exhibitions that the company was attending. Following receipt of a detailed brief, an initial meeting was set up to pitch some basic concepts and to investigate further, the balance between Lindt, the corporate brand and Lindt, the product, that can often end up in the corner shop.

During discussions, the client outlined the key brand aims to be reflected in their trade show presence, namely:-

  • to be regarded as the everyday accessible luxury chocolate brand in the UK
  • to take ownership of the premium chocolate category
  • to create an emotional rather than a functional connection to the brand (ie a love for chocolate)

We have handled many stand builds and refurbishments for Lindt, and to this day are one of our most prestigious clients.

Brief:
We were asked to develop a stand design that addressed a number of issues:-

  • to reflect the premium nature of the brand and it’s positioning in the market
  • to provide a more controlled approach to sampling
  • to employ reusable stand components with modular elements, so that a variety of size formats could be accommodated throughout the tradeshow programme

Pitch:
In keeping with the brand values an elegant, contemporary style was proposed. A linking fascia, with high level branding and built in lighting to the underside, would complement the core product displays and would be built in sections to use on different size stands.

A sampling table would be incorporated to prevent a ‘free for all’ approach, while a wood effect floor covering would bring through the golden tones of the graphics.

In addition to the design concepts presented, project management and cost visibility processes for the programme, were demonstrated and became important factors in securing the contract.

Client profile:
“Master chocolatier since 1845”

Lindt is the No1. premium chocolate manufacturer in the UK and globally.
The client was very impressed with the initial proposals, particularly with our understanding of their brand positioning. Andrew Lightowler continues, “the flexibility and modularity of the design have created stand solutions that have worked extremely well throughout the year and have enabled Lindt to attend a total of nine, successful exhibitions, in various size formats. They are a professional, effective exhibition team and provide great service, from supporting our merchandising programme, through to the largest builds.”

Andrew Lightowler – Trade Sector Manager

This relationship has developed since 2011 with various stands being built at many B2B and B2C shows throughout the UK.

Golf show

Client:
Acushnet Europe Ltd., incorporating Titleist and Footjoy golf ball and equipment manufacturers.

Show:

The Golf Show – 126 sq. m – Harrogate International Centre

Ongoing contract

Background:

Back in June of 2013, an initial phone enquiry came through with a stand brief the following day. Following further discussions and a fact-finding meeting, initial designs were presented. Themes were developed over time until the decision was down to two final contractors. Strong project management procedures and cost visibility, combined with a custom design that demonstrated both style and soul, finally won the day.

Acushnet were extremely pleased with their exhibition stand in 2013, and couldn’t wait to exhibit again.

Brief:
To create a stand that would support, highlight and showcase the client’s products, as a focus of their business. In addition the stand would reinforce the market leading positions of both brands to rightly elevate them above the competition, while emphasising the manufacturing and process excellence in place, to deliver best in class product.

The overall feel of the exhibit would be welcoming and encourage all passing visitors to see into the stand and entice them to view the product range.

The design would have a more elevated, more premium and more permanent, look and feel, than previous, to emulate the products displayed.

The stand would be used for other events, throughout the year, so the design would need to be flexible, with re-usable components.

Suitable provision for storage and sales space would need to be included.

Pitch:
The design proposed curved styling with open features, to promote a friendly feel and give maximum visibility to visitors.

Product manufacturing and excellence would be showcased in distinctive island units; while wide use of large format graphics would validate the product dominance among the world’s best players.

Overall the cleverly integrated, ‘mirror image’ stand design, featuring strong, corporate colour styling, with separate reception, meeting and sales areas, would clearly define and separate the main brands.

Results:

Titleist exhibition stand

Acushnet Europe – Titleist/Footjoy exhibition stand at The Golf Show

The high quality finish of the stand matched that of the products, while the open aspect of the exhibit certainly paid dividends, with visitor traffic very heavy and up on previous years.

Client profile:
Incorporates Titleist and Footjoy, the no.1 brands in golf ball and equipment manufacture.

How was the experience for you?

“I want to thank you so, so much for the execution and delivery of our stand. The attention to detail, service levels, care and professionalism was first class. The stand looked amazing! From a Titleist golf ball perspective it was excellent.”
Jonathan Dowdell
Titleist Golf Ball Product & Marketing Manager, EMEA

“I think I speak for both brands when I say we were extremely happy with the stand. I have to compliment your build team who seemed 100% in control of the situation and it was great to have a dedicated contact on hand to help with any issues we had whilst at Harrogate.”
Russell Lawes
FootJoy Marketing Manager

“Completely satisfied with every level of the build and the effort your team put in to get it finished on the day. Nothing was too much and nothing was overlooked. We’ve ended up with the most impressive stand at the whole show and received plenty of comments from passers-by to that effect.

Everything was of a quality befitting the #1 brands and the set-up team worked quickly and professionally to get the job finished, even helping us stick ball boxes together with sticky tape. Much appreciated.”
